The company has received the ISO 9001:2000 certificate from M/s. DNV.

The following are the features and advantages of JVS products.

1) PROTECTIVE RELAYS

i) Standard 144 mm.sq. DIN size draw-out case having fixed depth of 232 mm: This means that any relay, irrespective of the number of poles / elements required, will be supplied in a standard case. This will reduce the cost of fabrication as well as the time of fabrication, in so far as switchgear and panel manufactures are concerned. The fabrication drawings can be prepared well in advance without waiting for final order acceptance from us, as all the relays will be in the same size of case.

ii) Software based, programmable relays: This will again reduce the time of procurement and also inventory. As relays are programmed, it is not necessary to specify the characteristics in advance. A standard relay can be ordered and used for the desired application (e.g. Our software based, programmable, inverse time relay has all the four characteristics viz. standard inverse 3 secs. and 1.3 secs., very inverse and extremely inverse, any one of which can be selected as required.

iii) Wide setting range: The wide settings ranges available in current operated relays are

a) O/C setting - 50 to 200% in steps of 10%
b) E/F setting - 5 to 80% in steps of 5%
c) O/C highset - 200 to 3000% in steps of 200%
d) E/F highset - 50 to 800% in steps of 50%

These wide setting ranges cover almost all the requirement of users. The variable parameters are limited and so ordering of relays in advance becomes easy and thereby reduces the overall delivery times of both panels and switchgear. Customers can even go in for short-term stocks.

iv) Very low burdens: The burdens of the CTs on account of these relays is very low as compared to electromechanical relays. The burden is constant throughout the operating range. Further, There are indirect benefits in the form of CT & PT costs. The size of CTs can be reduced considerably. For example, for inverse time relays, it is no longer necessary to use 15 VA ALF10 or 30 VA ALF15 CTs. It is sufficient to use 5 VA ALF5 CTs and these will be adequate even if the earth fault element is set at 5%. Such facilities are not available on electromechanical relays.

v) Shorter Deliveries: In view of the fact that most of the relays are highly standardised and production / testing facilities are also automated, the overall delivery times get reduced considerably. The maximum delivery period for some of the more complicated relays will not be more than 10 / 12 weeks while for most of the other relays, it is of the order of 4 / 6 weeks.

vi) Maintenance free: The design as well as the use of hirel components makes the relays totally maintenance free. The mother board technology used in the relays enables replacement of a faulty PCB without much delay. Customers have to keep only the PCBs as spares and not entire relays. This will also result in reduction of spares inventory.

2) EARTH LEAKAGE AND EARTH FAULT RELAYS

These relays are available in either flush mounting or DIN rail mounting case. The relays are provided with bar graph indication to indicate the leakage in the system.

3) 'J-WATCH' FACIA ANNUNCIATORS

The annunciator is provided with built-in push buttons and site selection of trip, non-trip function and also the selection of standard ISA seqeunce of operation. Provided with RS232 communication port(optional).

4) MICROPROCESSOR BASED PANEL METERS AND TIMERS, COUNTERS, TIME INTERVAL METERS AND HOUR METER

These are of flush mounting type having wide range, very high accuracy and flexiblity in selecting various operationg modes at site.

5) ELECTROMECHANICAL, AUXILIARY AND HIGH SPEED TRIPPING RELAYS

The electromechanical auxiliary and high speed tripping relays are of attracted armature type. These relays are supplied in plug-in type cases which offer considerable advantages and flexibility to the users. These relays can be offered either with self reset or hand reset and electrical reset contacts. We have developed a special case, wherein number of elements from 1 to 6 can be supplied in a single case so that total requirement of a particular application can be met with a single case without going in for multiple cases for auxiliary and tripping relays
